Chicago, IL, March 20, 2008—The Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center presents “Grupo Yuba” in concert in celebration of the Abolition of Slavery Festivities. The concert is dedicated to the Puerto Rican Bomba male dancer. That evening the Center’s Board of Directors will be paying special homage to Mr. Miguel Flores Lopez, an 85 year old native of Guayama, Puerto Rico who continues to dance bomba and volunteer his time to teaching this tradition in his hometown of Guayama.

The Center will also be giving special recognition to six men representing the different generations of Puerto Rican men that are following Mr. Flores steps. The honorees are Angel Reyes, Jose A.
