DESCRIPTION:La Cantera Monthly Residency at The California Clipper Join Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center’s La Cantera—our Afro-Caribbean jazz ensemble for emerging musicians (ages 19–24)—for a monthly residency at The California Clipper in Humboldt Park. Rooted in Afro-Caribbean tradition and shaped by Chicago’s forward-moving jazz scene\, La Cantera brings a fresh\, high-energy set each month alongside special guest artists from Chicago and beyond. \nThis residency is a real-deal bandstand: a space where young artists sharpen their craft\, build community\, and share the stage with master musicians in an intimate club setting.  \nEvery 3rd Friday of the month. Free before 7:00 PM\,  \n$5 cover after 7:00 PM supports SRBCC’s programs. \n\nResidencia Mensual de La Cantera en The California Clipper (Humboldt Park)Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center presenta la residencia mensual de La Cantera—nuestro ensamble de jazz afrocaribeño para músicos emergentes (19–24)—en The California Clipper\, en Humboldt Park. Con raíces puertorriqueñas y el impulso creativo de la escena jazzística de Chicago\, La Cantera ofrece cada mes un repertorio vibrante junto a artistas invitados de Chicago y de otras ciudades. \nEsta residencia es escenario y escuela a la vez: un espacio donde jóvenes artistas afinan su sonido\, fortalecen comunidad y comparten tarima con músicos consagrados en el ambiente íntimo de un club.  \n\nCada tercer viernes del mes. Gratis antes de las 7:00 pm.  \n$5 a beneficio de los programas de SRBCC a partir de las 7:00 pm.
