DESCRIPTION:English\nSegundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (SRBCC) proudly welcomes David Rivera y la Bámbula for their Chicago debut\, presented as part of SRBCC’s 55th Anniversary Year. \nThis benefit concert supports SRBCC’s Artist Fund\, which helps cover artist fees for visiting artists and sustains paid opportunities for independent musicians from Chicago and Puerto Rico. As SRBCC enters FY2026 facing a 60% reduction in operational support\, the Puente Sonoro 55 concert series is a vital way for our community to keep this fund strong—and keep artists working. \nDavid Rivera is a Puerto Rican recording artist\, composer\, arranger\, and educator whose sound moves across Latin music\, jazz\, gospel\, rock\, and pop. A 2004 BEST Scholarship recipient\, he studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston and has collaborated in concerts and recordings with artists including Obie Bermúdez\, John Benítez\, Gonzalo Grau\, Pedro Capó\, Luis Enrique\, and Gilberto Santa Rosa. \nFood and beverage available for purchase. \nDoors open at 6:30 pm. \nTickets\nEspañol\nEl Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (SRBCC) presenta con orgullo el debut en Chicago de David Rivera y la Bámbula\, como parte de nuestro 55.º Aniversario. \nEste concierto benéfico apoya el Fondo de Artistas de SRBCC\, que ayuda a cubrir honorarios de artistas invitados y sostiene oportunidades remuneradas para músicos independientes de Chicago y Puerto Rico. Rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and shaped by Chicago’s forward-moving jazz scene\, La Cantera brings a fresh\, high-energy set each month alongside special guest artists from Chicago and beyond. \nThis residency is a living classroom and a real-deal bandstand: a space where young artists sharpen their craft\, build community\, and share the stage with master musicians in an intimate club setting. Come for the grooves\, stay for the conversation—this is where the next generation meets the moment. \nEvery 3rd Friday of the month\, starting March 2026. Their performance preserves cultural heritage while sharing its passion and authenticity with the diaspora during the BoriCorridor Tour 2026 edition.  \n  \nVersos de Mujer\, the only all-female Puerto Rican traditional music ensemble\, will bring its concert “Con Puerto Rico en el corazón” (With Puerto Rico in Our Hearts) to Chicago for the first time this April. Their show celebrates cultural heritage and the power of women in music\, offering audiences an intimate and powerful experience. \n  \nDoors open: 5:00 p.m.\nStart time: 6:00 p.m. \n  \nAbout Versos de Mujer \nFounded in 2017\, Versos de Mujer is the only Puerto Rican traditional music collective composed exclusively of women. Featuring seasoned troubadours and instrumentalists\, the group blends poetry\, music\, and tradition into a powerful and emotional stage experience. Its mission is to bring Puerto Rican cultural heritage to life and create a deep connection with the diaspora\, delivering authenticity and passion in every performance.
