Welcome to Our Space SRBCC Chicago, a historic and creative venue supporting artists and community events in Hermosa.

A Home for Culture & Creativity

In 2007, SRBCC acquired a 13,000-square-foot retail and office space in Chicago’s Hermosa neighborhood.

A Historic Venue with a New Purpose

Originally built in 1925, the space was once the Karlov Theater. Today, it houses:

A media center for creative youth

A rehearsal space for professional artists

A dance studio

Two apartments for touring and artists and artists transitioning to a life in Chicago.

A multipurpose theater for arts and performances

A Hub for Arts & Community

As part of a capital campaign, SRBCC revitalized the space to support performing and visual arts. The former theater now serves as a dynamic venue for:

  • Theater productions
  • Art installations
  • Live music events
  • Video & photography projects
