The Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (SRBCC) is Chicago’s longest-running Latino cultural center, dedicated to preserving and promoting Puerto Rican, Latin American, and Afro-Caribbean arts.

Founded in 1971, SRBCC continues to uplift BIPOC communities through cultural education, artistic residencies, and live performances.

A Legacy Inspired by Social Justice

SRBCC honors Segundo Ruiz Belvis, a Puerto Rican patriot and abolitionist. He helped free enslaved children under Spanish rule. Inspired by his activism, the center ensures that Afro-Caribbean and Latin American culture thrive in Chicago.

A Hub for Artistic & Cultural Exchange

SRBCC offers a wide range of programs, including:
