The Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center (SRBCC) welcomes both local and visiting artists to collaborate, create, and showcase their work at its state-of-the-art 200-seat performance venue in Hermosa, Chicago.

Barrio Bugalú

Held every last Friday of the month, Barrio Bugalú is not just a dance party; it’s a celebration of history, a tribute to the pioneers of Latin music, and a testament to the timeless power of Afro-Caribbean rhythms to bring people together.

A global tradition, celebrated in many unique ways, will come to life in the Aon Grand Ballroom.

Pleneros y Poetas

Harnessing the power of plena as music of resistance, Pleneros y Poetas brings together a group of Chicago-based poets and pleneros from different neighborhoods to explore improvisation, storytelling, as well as shared and unique struggles within their communities.

Our monthly residency at The California Clipper continues every third Friday of the month with special guest Tino Melecio from Tino Melecio and the Latin Swing Factor.

La Ruta Ana Otero

SRBCC presents Daniela Santos and her trio in the US Premiere of “La Ruta Ana Otero” a tribute to the first Puerto Rican woman to be an internationally recognized conductor, composer and pianist. The varied program includes works from 1870 to the present day: Waltzes, mazurcas, boleros, Puerto Rican danzas and original compositions, including the only surviving work composed by Ana Otero herself in Paris, “Premiere Penseé”.
