On Tuesday, September 9th at 6pm, the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Center hosts a presentation of Art Papi, a 216-page bilingual book envisioned by Editor-in-Chief Miguel Figueroa about Puerto Rico’s contemporary history and subculture through an artistic lens. On September 10th and 11th, Figueroa will be presenting a two-day FREE workshop titled, Reconnecting With Your Creative Self where the published and editor-in-chief of Art Papi will be sharing the tools that helped him overcome creative blocks and helped him during the creation of the book.
Art Papi is an archival account of the creative flourishing that occurred on the island after Hurricane Maria and a questioning of our political and cultural landscape. The book provides insight into the voices of creatives who challenged this emerging nexus while sharing with readers the strength of their vulnerabilities as artists.
