Open House Chicago (OHC), one of the largest architecture and urban exploration festivals in the world, returns to celebrate 15 years of architecture, culture and community. This free public festival offers behind-the-scenes access to 200+ sites, including many not normally open to the public.
The main venue space, which once operated as The Karlov Theater, will be open to visitors, as will the garden space. Optional guided tours will be offered.

Gilded Flora Panels Workshop by Carlos Rolón
1:30 PM to 3:00 PM
Participants will create their own mixed media floral panel using SRBCC Resident Artist Carlos Rolón’s layering style combining tropical botanical imagery, personal symbolism, and metallic embellishment (gold/silver/copper foil or paint).
Latin Jazz and Salsa Jam Sessions
3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
La Cantera will host Latin Jazz and Salsa Jam Sessions with surprise special guests. These high-energy, interactive performances bring together emerging talent and established artists in an intimate, improvisational format that reflects Chicago’s vibrant Afro-Caribbean music scene. No registration needed.
