Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays – 3:00 pm to 5:15 pm at Schurz High School (3601 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60641)
Currently season: Fall 2024 (September – December 2024).

The Afro-Caribbean Drums Apprenticeship is a program for high school students designed to explore a range of Afro-Caribbean rhythms with deep African and Caribbean roots.

Apprentices will develop percussion skills while learning about the cultural significance of these rhythms as forms of resistance and communication.
This hands-on program provides experience in both drumming and rhythmic expression, connecting students to the rich musical traditions of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora.
