Beginning with an introduction to shadow traditions from around the world, participants will learn puppet joints, controls and techniques using templates and materials provided by the instructors. The workshop will then progress to original ideas and stories created from scratch before culminating in an epic sharing of shadows and sound! All experience levels are welcome!

Appetizers by Jibaritos on Harlem and Wine reception at 6:00 pm. Art Papi is an archival account of the creative flourishing that occurred on the island after Hurricane Maria and a questioning of our political and cultural landscape. The book provides insight into the voices of creatives who challenged this emerging nexus while sharing with readers the strength of their vulnerabilities as artists.
Art Papi is a book that chronicles contemporary Puerto Rican history through a contemporary art and subculture lens. It covers a crucial time in the island - from 2016 to 2022 - which saw Hurricane Maria, Ricky Renuncia and COVID-19 as well as the takeover of Promesa.
